As of August 2025, torque spec for RDO screws is now 15 in-lbs. due to a tool change.

This typically happens during install when too much torque force is applied (more than 15-INCH-LBS), or during removal when too much Loctite was used during install, forcing massive over-torque to remove the screws.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: When installing your Red Dot Optic on an LTT RDO pistol, do not use more than 15-INCH-LBS (using a
torque driver, or torque limiter will allow you to measure this out precisely) of force AND do not use more than a single generous drop of Loctite or Vibra-Tite on the optic screws, as too much Loctite will permanently adhere the screw threads to the inside of the nut.
